Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

Seen by the Crown Zellerback trail in Scappoose.  It appears to be a male bird hatched last year coming into its adult plumage.  There were numerous wells in the tree suggesting it had been there for awhile.

This is remarkably the 4th county in Oregon I've seen this eastern species motorless (used bike and feet, no motors).  By comparison, I've seen only one Red-naped Sapsucker motorless, and no Williamson's Sapsuckers motorless.
