GALAPAGOS MOCKINGBIRD

6/26/07 James Island. There are 4 species of mockingbird in the Galapagos Islands. 3 of them occur only on the island in their name: Hood, Floreana, and San Cristobal. The fourth and most common is the Galapagos Mockingbird seen here which is located on the other islands. These are very inquisitive birds that at times landed directly at our feet. We were advised to not leave our water bottles open as one might land on the bottle to get a drink!
