The two Great Horned Owl chicks at Smith and Bybee Lakes are growing up. When I first arrived it was raining and they were all hunkered down with only a small part of one of the babies showing. When I left the rain had nearly stopped and Mom moved aside to give the kids some room. Both chicks took turns flapping their wings. 04/15/05 Posted by Hello

I'd been wondering if there would be room for any chicks in the way-too-small Great Horned Owl nest at Smith and Bybee Lakes. It looks like the Mom moved a bit to the side to make room and was fortunate to have the chick looking in the right direction. I only saw the one chick. 4/8/05 Posted by Hello
