Feeding time!

The parent Violet-green Swallows remain very busy flying looking for insects to feed their young. The young look close to fledging but haven't yet. The actual feeding took less than a second.

Violet-Green Swallows

We've been hearing lots of noises from the baby Violet-green Swallows in our nestbox for the past few weeks, and on 7/13 we finally got a look as one of them perched at the nesthole where it was periodically fed by one of the parents catching insects in the area around our house. Then yesterday while watching the bird at the nesthole, it seemed to be pushed and then suddenly a second one showed itself. Last year they fledged July 19, and it looks like they'll be a little earlier this year.
