Cedar Waxwings

A flock of 74 Cedar Waxwings were hanging out in one fruit-laden tree at the east end of the Broadway Bridge this afternoon.  They would periodically fly down to a small puddle to drink.  The adults have the red spot on the wings while the first-year birds don't.  In the first photo, the red tips to the secondaries are visible.

Barred Owl

I stopped to look at some sparrows on Sauvie Island, and in flew this Barred Owl, the first I've seen on the island.  This was on Reeder Rd in Multnomah County about 1/2 mile from the county line.

Toucans

Keel-billed Toucan

Black-mandibled Toucan

Collared Aracari

While on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Verde, we got to see 3 toucans and got decent views while on the very cool Nature Observatorio, a tree house 80 feet off the ground attached to the tree by straps and without any nails or screws.
