10/20/09 At Nehalem Sewage Ponds, Wink Gross and I found 7 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS mixed in with LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS and DUNLIN.

Black Turnstones and Surfbirds

10/20/09 These Black Turnstones and Surfbirds at Barview Jetty allowed surprisingly close looks f\by Wink Gross and I. The Surfbirds more heavily spotted underneath are immature birds.

NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL

Wink Gross and I found this Northern Pygmy-Owl on Larch Mountain at the parking lot just below the top of the mountain. It happened to take off just as I was taking a photograph.
