Owl attack

After playing a Barred Owl tape in an area where I had found them in the past, I felt a strong smack to the back and top of my head.  Reaching up, I found blood from where the owl's talons hit my scalp.  Though it's possible it was a Great Horned Owl attacking what it thought was potential prey, I think it's more likely that I was near a Barred Owl nest or young which an adult was defending.
